ABOUT US

Enfolding. Equipping. Entrusting.

The Evangelical Free Church of Medicine Hat had its beginning in 1963 when a group of local believers began meeting in homes for prayer and Bible study.  Over the years, the Lord blessed the church and ground was broken for the permanent building on June 13, 1965.  The Lord has continued to be faithful in the decades that have followed.  Today, families from Redcliff to Irvine call the Evangelical Free Church of Medicine Hat their home.

As a church, we are dedicated to fulfilling the Great Commission. Our goal, above all else, is to make disciples of Jesus Christ. Practically, we seek to accomplish this by enfolding, equipping, and entrusting. Enfolding involves making the gospel known to our community and the nations. We reach out and lovingly proclaim Jesus to everyone because of the hope and forgiveness that we have been granted. We also look to develop the characteristics of Christian community, seeking to actively love and serve one another. Equipping is the process of growing in the knowledge and love of our Lord. We seek to accurately, carefully, and consistently teach God’s word as we gather together. We also look to equip through our relationships as we develop a community of encouragement, prayer, instruction, and accountability. And the natural conclusion to this process is entrusting believers with ministry opportunities. We believe that every Christian is gifted by the Holy Spirit and is necessary for the building up of the body of Christ.

We hope that you will look around our website and find out more about the people and ministries that make our church home.  We would love to meet you, and welcome your questions or comments.  Please consider joining us for worship on Sunday mornings at 10:45 am or at 9:30 am for Sunday School (for all ages) prior to our service.  Of course, you are welcome to call or email us as well.  We look forward to hearing from you!
